>New Ways of Thinking…

In Uncategorized on February 24, 2010 at 8:41 pm

>At the recent TED conference, Temple Grandin, in response to the question what are you most passionate about? Spoke with the certainty of knowing…

“That the things I do are going to make the world a better place…. seeing stuff that makes real change, in the real world. We need a lot more of that and a lot less abstract stuff.”

Let’s keep opening up to thinking where form is not as important as igniting the spark in our kids souls…

>I’m in the Mood for Love

In Uncategorized on February 24, 2010 at 7:04 pm

>As part of our year of loving wholeheartedly and this months discussion of things we love…

It’s the 75th Anniversary of “I’m in the Mood for Love” written by Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields.

Dorothy Fields is one of my inspirations, born into a theatrical family, she transcended feminine stereotypes and left behind a legacy of balls out, heart rendering, inspiring lyrics.

So grateful for those moments when I can take a beat and enjoy her style and substance and the effortless way she made the connections.

“One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas.” from Victor Hugo.

On the planet today with the proliferation of technology and the advancement of weaponry to destroy it is clear there is one path through… Remembering the truth. Peace is your responsibility & Love Remains the Answer.

Open up to different thinking; where peaceful ideas are our imagination’s new army.

Lots of Love,

>Why a Self Portrait…

In Uncategorized on February 2, 2010 at 8:03 am

>”The idea of a self portrait containing ideas, thoughts, poems, lyrics, and moments of memory flashing in and out of a year spent starting over, seemed like the best gift I could give myself. What better way to celebrate a year where I finally grew up and into myself. It is the ultimate kaleidoscope of what can make and unmake a life or better yet, unmake and make a life.”

>Today’s Get Bare Tip – Give Up People Pleasing!

>We all have our demons to work through. We all have the inner spinner that brings the same story around and around.

“On April 10, 1994, I wrote these words, which I keep on my desk: “Never again will I do anything for anyone that I do not feel directly from my heart. I will not attend a meeting, make a phone call, write a letter, sponsor or participate in any activity in which every fiber of my being does not resound yes. I will act with the intent to be true to myself.”

When I accepted that I was a decent, kind and giving person — whether I said yes or no—I no longer had anything to prove. I was once afraid of people saying, “Who does she think she is?” Now I have the courage to stand and say, “This is who I am.”

— Oprah Winfrey, O Magazine, What I Know For Sure.

>Why Getting Bare…

>”There are a lot of goofy realities that constitute living in the two thousands. Technology, isolation, community, colossal and constant information creating an ever growing disconnect. I’m sharing a little bit of my own coming to some type of knowing. My own version of baring it all. A series of feelings, thoughts and perhaps a revelation or two presented in a written self portrait. At worst it will help me. At best my hopes are that you will join me on a journey of exploration, become witnesses to the truths that surround all of us and get bare.”
