>Mel’s off the warm caffeinated loveliness.

It’s sad to see Mr. Coffee on the bench. But. A girl can still dream.

>When I want to change the reflection in the mirror…

>I put one foot in front of the other.

And.

I’m always.

Walking out the door.

It’s never difficult to change.

But.

You do need to take the first steps.

Thanks to the work of Rankin/Bass Productions and their use of “Animagic” (a stop motion animation process using figurines) with Mickey Rooney singing musical numbers in creating a classic.

>It’s official.

I fought it for a long time, but had to cave with the recent round of radio commercials… there’s something about that voice that does it for me everytime.

>Al Pacino’s dad’s name is Sal Pacino.

“Sal… what should we call our baby boy?”

Al.

“Done.”

Sal is no longer with us but his spirit lives on.

>Word. Big Bird.

>There is poetry in action all around us.

Imagine my surprise on finishing up a contentious telephone call, when the other party signed off with… “Word. Big Bird.”

It was cute. it was endearing. it was unexpected.

Merriam-Webster’s definition of poetry is beauty of expression formulating a concentrated awareness of experience in the language chosen and arranged to create a specific emotional response through meaning, sound, and rhythm.

Big Bird as poetic conduit. Love it.

It’s official…

I have a mantra.

>I May Be on Country Crack…

>I think people should join me. The world will be a better place.

Here’s a classic lyric by Billy Dean

Gonna hold who needs holdin’
Mend what needs mendin’
Walk what needs walkin’
Though it means an extra mile
Pray what needs prayin’
Say what needs sayin’
Cause we’re only here for a little while

Let’s take it by storm.

>It’s Always All There…

In Uncategorized on January 2, 2008 at 12:07 am

>The human condition just needs help seeing it.

To that end… Here’s my thought for this moment.

We’re all interconnected. Let go of any other idea of separateness.

Many people forget that their “reality” isn’t everyone’s reality and overlook the very idea that we are all one.

I spent a long time stuck in “my reality.” It was isolating. It was confining, and didn’t come close to expanding through what is.

While it’s true… other peoples stories are not my stories. They are all part of the fabric and fibers of the world we create together. Limiting yourself to only your reality and story is a false picture. Revealing and removing our illusive blindfolds brings us to a true picture.

I repeat we are all interconnected. Let go of any other idea of separateness.

A couple of lines from William Wordsworth’s Prelude…

Like harmony in music; there is a dark inscrutable workmanship that reconciles discordant elements, makes them cling together in one society.

As we cling together. Let’s bring grace, joy and acceptance to our differentness.
